Publication on the IV. Pan-African Anti-Corruption Conference

The Tanzanian Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (PCCB), the local NGO Integrity Watch (IW), and the Hanns Seidel Foundation jointly organized the IV. Pan-African Anti-Corruption Conference to discuss “Corruption and Development in Africa”.

The conference took place on 4th and 5th June 2013 in Dar es Salaam and aimed at sharing experiences across African Countries in preventing and combating corruption most effectively and efficiently.

Over 80 experts from Tunisia, Egypt, Morocco, Kenya, Ghana, Namibia, South Africa and host Tanzania attended. The delegates include diplomats and representatives of governmental institutions, academia, lawyers, businessmen, representatives from civil society organizations as well as media.

Relevant stakeholders aired their views through presentations and discussions focusing on various aspects of corruption, its definition, its consequences and most importantly ways in which it can be eliminated.

These presentations and discussions resulted to the executive summary which contains a collection of presented papers, speeches, useful ideas and recommendations on how best to fight against corruption.

We hope that this publication will help in arousing public dialogue and stimulate further national and international discussions and actions against corruption
