Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) in partnership with Tanzania Relief Initiative (TRI) conducted a training on combating human trafficking to law enforcement officials and journalists in Mbeya region.

Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) in partnership with Tanzania Relief Initiative (TRI) conducted a four day training on combating human trafficking to law enforcement officials and journalists in Mbeya region.  The training was facilitated by Anti-Trafficking Secretariat which is under the Ministry of Home Affairs.  The participants of the training included various law enforcements officials namely prosecutors, magistrates, police officers, immigration officers, prison officers, journalists, and social workers from the selected districts of Mbeya region.  The training covered key aspect of human trafficking such as the concept of human trafficking, how human tracking differs from smuggling of people, indicators of human trafficking, child trafficking, protection and supporting the victims of human trafficking, counter-trafficking initiatives, conducting investigations into human trafficking in collaboration with the associated collaborators.  The Anti-Human Traficking training was officiated by Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police Ulrich Matei-Mbeya Regional Police Commender who emphasized the importance of engagement of all stakeholders in the fight against human trafficking.
