Mbeya, Tanzania – Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) in partnership with African Amani Institute (AAI), conducted a two-day training to 48 councilors and two officials from Mbeya City Council on November 15 and 16, 2024. The training focused on enhancing skills in good governance, local government structures, gender budgeting and project management to enhance councilors effectiveness.

The training strengthened the capacity of councilors in overseeing Mbeya city council's projects and fulfilling their responsibilities effectively. Facilitated by AAI with HSF’s support,t he expected results include improved service delivery to the local community in Mbeya city and enhanced accountability in council operations.  

HSF believes that capacity building is a cornerstone for sustainable development,  improved accountability and ensuring a clear separation of roles and responsibilities among councilors.
