A NEW PARTNERSHIP UNFOLDS

Tanzanian-German Centre for Eastern African Legal Studies (TGCL) and the Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) have partnered in the provision of scholarships for 2023/2024 cohort.

In the new partnership with TGCL, Hanns Seidel Foundation is financing six TGCL scholars; each scholarship is valued at 5,000 euros for 2023/2024 cohort. The beneficiaries of the scholarship are from Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania. In the process of inducting the scholars, on December 12, Dr. Petro Protas, the TGCL Project Coordinator, Ms. Lilian Masalu, and scholars paid an important visit to the Hanns-Seidel Foundation Office in Mikocheni, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. During their visit, they met with HSF officials, including Mr. Karl Peter Schoenfisch -President Representative for Tanzania and Uganda, Ms. Kadele Mabumba -Deputy Head of Office and Programmes for Tanzania and Uganda and Mr. Raphael Ami -Monitoring and Evaluation Expert for Tanzania and Uganda.

The scholars made a short presentation to the Hanns Seidel Foundation team members on their research topics and fields of study. The students had the opportunity to ask insightful questions to gain a better understanding of the work of the Hanns Seidel Foundation in East Africa, specifically in Tanzania and Uganda. The exchange of ideas gave the scholars additional insight into how the work of the Hanns Seidel Foundation in Tanzania and Uganda can be most advantageous to them as the beneficiaries of the scholarship.
