Handover of Books and Stickers to Tanzania Police Force

On 18th October 2013 the Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) handed over community awareness materials to TPF to help them provide highest quality services possible to the public. Altogether 10,000 books “Haki na Ulinzi wa Mtoto” (Child Rights and Protection) and” Fahamu Misingi ya Amani na Usalama katika Familia” (Understand the basics of Peace and Security in the Family) were handed over in order to strengthen the efforts of TPF in ensuring security up to the family level in the framework of community policing.

HSF also contributed to the printing of 4000 anti-corruption stickers to support TPFs fight against corruption within and outside the Force. Along with these materials, HSF rewarded Training Certificates to Police Officers of Community Policing and Monitoring and Evaluation Departments who attended a half-year Capacity Building training in the presence of the responsible head of departments.

Speaking during the handover ceremony done at the TPF headquarters, Commissioner of Police Administration and Operation, Paul Chagonja on behalf of the Inspector General of Police said, TPF will effectively utilize the granted materials to provide education to the community through capacitated police officers under the Department of Community Policing as well as Monitoring and Evaluation.

HSF has been supporting the implementation of the newly developed TPF Reform to build up a people´s friendly force through integrated services delivery system since 2007.
